Star all-rounder returns to West Indies World Cup Squad as they aim to claim another title.

The West Indies have announced their 15-member roster for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be co-hosted by the Caribbean nations and the United States.

Shamar Joseph, who impressed in his Test debut series against Australia earlier this year, is now set to make his T20I debut after being named to the T20 World Cup roster.

Shimron Hetmyer makes his comeback after missing the T20I series against Australia. He has been in fantastic form in the 2017 IPL with the Rajasthan Royals, scoring 83 runs in four innings with a strike rate of 184.44 while playing as a finisher.

Kyle Mayers, who was part of the team during the Australia series, was left out as the Windies preferred a lower-order batsman over an opener.

Johnson Charles, Brandon King, and Shai Hope are anticipated to fill the top-order spots. The Windies have a variety of powerful hitters and all-rounders, including Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Shimron Hetmyer, Powell, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rutherford, and Romario Shepherd, who provide the club with numerous alternatives.

The spin-bowling department consists of Akeal Hossain and Gudakesh Motie, while the pace batteries will be managed by vice-captain Joseph with Joseph’s assistance.
