Papua New Guinea Squad for ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2024

Veteran Assad Vala will lead the Barramundis, who qualified for this year’s championship through the East Asia-Pacific regional final in July 2023.

Vala is one of ten players from their 2021 campaign, while 2021 reserve Jack Gardner is included in the 15-player group. CJ Amini, a leg-spinning all-rounder, will take over as vice-captain from Vala.

The captain says the team is better prepared for this year’s tournament after dealing with a Covid issue in 2021, and he has great hopes for the Caribbean.
