Nepal posted the target of 107 runs to Netherlands on first innings. Considering past matches between Nepal and Netherlands, it won’t be wrong to say that Nepal wasn’t at its best.

The whole Nepali cricket community were watching closely from all around the world with all the excitement and support but were disappointed by the performance. Grand Prairie Stadium was filled with around 15000 Nepali cricket supporters.

With Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh on the bats Nepal faced VJ Kingma on the first overs. The duo could not show much of their magic as Aasif sheikh bided goodbye to the pitch in 1.6 over with just 4 runs on his name. Bhurtel followed with just 7 runs in 3.1 over.

Rohit Paudel was the top scorer with 35 runs and Karan Kc contributed 17 runs, 14 by Gulsan and 11 by Anil Sah. Only these four players were able to get the double digit runs and rest were standing on the single digit runs.

The batting side wasn’t at it best as there were not significant innings to name any and neither the partnerships that resulted to be crucial for Nepal.

Compared to batting bowling gave quite a relief to the Nepali fans. Though Nepal made numerous errors in the field, dropping several crucial catches, Netherlands standing at 71/2 in the first 13 overs with 2 quick wickets Nepal gave a tough fight.

For Nepal, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee and Abinash Bohara grabbed one wicket each.

For the Netherlands, Tom Pringle was the standout bowler, taking three wickets (4-0-20-3) and receiving the Player of the Match award. Van Beek also claimed three wickets, while van Meekeren and de Leede pocketed two each.
